Three men who attacked a man at a property in Burntisland last year have been jailed.
At the Edinburgh High Court on Tuesday 21st March, Christopher Martin (27), Dean Walls (31) and Craig Robertson (37) pleaded guilty to assault to severe injury.
The incident took place within an address on Melville Gardens where a 42 year-old victim sustained serious and permanent injuries to the head and body.
Martin was given 5 years and 7 months in prison, Walls received 6 years and Robertson was sentenced to 6 years 8 months.
Detective Sergeant Craig Fraser of Kirkcaldy CID said: “As a result of this attack the victim sustained permanent injuries which will affect him for the rest of his life.
“This was a particularly violent attack and if it wasn’t for the first aid given to the victim by neighbours then I believe that he wouldn’t have survived.
“I hope the sentence the men received will give the victim some comfort allowing him to continue with his life.”
