One dead after fire at Rosyth sheltered housing complex

One person is understood to have tragically died in a fire at a sheltered housing complex in Rosyth.

Four fire crews, several police units and an ambulance raced to the complex after the blaze broke out.

An investigation has now been launched into what caused the fire at Walter Hay Court, which has around 30 retirement bungalows.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said several people had been rescued and evacuated from a burning building.

The fire happened at around 10am on 16 December.

Witnesses told of ‘plumes’ of smoke being seen for miles around.
